Ramada by Wyndham Phuket Deevana review: a balcony base for Patong

A hotel for combining time around the pool with outings into Patong, with the Junior Suite offering a particularly different balcony arrangement.

Close enough to explore, with a walk involved

Ramada by Wyndham Phuket Deevana is the hotel at 45/1 Raj-U-Thid 200 Pee Road in Patong. The Deevana group also calls it Ramada by Wyndham Phuket Deevana Patong. It is a separate property from Deevana Plaza Phuket Patong and Deevana Patong Resort & Spa, so matching the address matters when comparing rooms, transfer instructions and guest reviews.

The attraction is a hotel base with its own pool and facilities within walking reach of Patong’s beach, restaurants and entertainment. The official location description estimates seven minutes to the beach and ten to fifteen minutes to Bangla Road and Jungceylon. Guest timings vary, which is useful context for anyone travelling with children or deciding how often to walk in the heat.

Latisha, reviewing a May 2026 family stay on Expedia, found food and other amenities close by and estimated a twelve-minute beach walk. Kim1, describing a March 2026 Deluxe stay on Trip.com, felt the walking-street area was a little far. Neither account changes the address; they reveal different expectations about convenience. The Ramada suits guests comfortable with some walking better than those seeking to step directly from the hotel onto the sand.

A room upgrade changes the outdoor space

The official accommodation overview lists Deluxe rooms at 35 square meters, Premier rooms at 38 and Junior Suites at 56. Deluxe offers king or twin beds; Premier and Junior Suite categories are listed with king beds. Comparing the actual layout is worthwhile, especially if a third person or children will share the accommodation. A larger floor area does not by itself establish an approved extra sleeping arrangement.

The Junior Suite has the clearest individual character. Its official page describes bedroom and living areas, floor-to-ceiling windows and a broad private balcony. A sofa provides a separate sitting place indoors, while a daybed and bathtub occupy the balcony. This is an outdoor bathing arrangement within a hotel suite, rather than a private swimming pool.

That balcony deserves attention in the photographs before choosing it. Guests drawn to time outside may value the daybed and bath more than another traveller would, particularly when weather and the specific outlook affect how often they use the space. An anonymous couple reviewing a June 2026 Junior Suite stay on Trip.com praised the room and helpful staff, but the short account does not establish the view or privacy of every suite.

Facilities for a day inside the hotel

The current hotel site lists an outdoor pool, separate children’s pool, kids’ club, gym and Orientala Spa. The facilities page places the club beside the pool and describes toys, games and activities for children aged four to twelve, subject to availability. Families should ask about arrangements for their dates and retain responsibility for confirming supervision rather than assume the club operates as a childcare service.

The Café, beside the lobby, is the main all-day dining venue, with garden views and an international breakfast buffet. The published facilities also include Bake & Bev and in-room dining. Having these options makes a slower hotel morning possible before heading into Patong, though breakfast inclusion and any meal package depend on the reservation.

James, who stayed in December 2025 and posted an Expedia review in April 2026, described a successful return visit and praised the rooms, pool, staff and breakfast. Hanna555’s December 2024 Deluxe account on Trip.com similarly liked clean, comfortable accommodation and the morning meal, while estimating a longer beach walk than the hotel advertises. The common appeal is a combination of facilities and location, rather than beach frontage.

Check the details that shape a family stay

The hotel advertises connecting rooms on request. That can be a useful alternative to putting everyone into one larger room, but the connection should be confirmed explicitly. The same applies to the balcony bath: it belongs to the Junior Suite description and should not be inferred from a general photograph attached to a Deluxe rate.

The strongest fit is a traveller who wants a pool-based hotel day and access to Patong outside, with space to return to between outings. Before booking, settle the exact category, sleeping arrangement and meal inclusions, then consider whether the walk fits everyone in the party. The Ramada’s particular advantages are its family facilities and the Junior Suite’s indoor-and-outdoor living space; their value depends on how much of the holiday will actually be spent using them.
