Diamond Cliff review: hillside sea views with two pool moods

The outlook is the reward for a hillside address, with room layouts and pool choices worth comparing closely.

The view comes with a hill

Sea views are a recurring reason guests choose Diamond Cliff, but the climb belongs in the same picture. The resort rises above Patong, with accommodation and facilities spread across changing levels. That gives the hotel its outlook and separates a stay here from one on a flat street in the centre. It also means that the route between a room, breakfast and the lobby can become part of the daily routine.

Trip.com guests describe both sides of that bargain. A July 2026 family found the internal hill shuttle useful, while another July couple accepted the stairs as exercise. A June guest was less pleased about waiting for transport between the lobby and room. These are different experiences of the same terrain. Internal transport can help, but its presence does not establish that every journey will be immediate or free of steps.

A balcony and daybed make the room useful

The official Super Deluxe Sea View category offers 40–45 square metres, king or twin beds and a daybed. Its private balcony includes a table and chairs, while the bathroom combines a shower and bathtub. That is a practical arrangement for travellers who want to spend some of the afternoon in the room rather than using it only to sleep. The balcony and daybed create two places to relax around the sea outlook.

An August 2026 group staying in this category praised the room’s space and view, and an August family also liked the facilities and breakfast. Those accounts support the appeal of this specific room choice. They do not make the Super Deluxe name alone sufficient: the hotel lists Super Deluxe and Super Deluxe Sea View separately, so the view needs to be an explicit feature of the reserved category.

The Ocean Jacuzzi Suite is a more particular choice. Its official description gives 60 square metres and a whirlpool bath for two beside the window, plus a sea-view terrace and a separate shower. The additional value is as much about the bathing arrangement as extra floor space. For a couple planning time indoors, that is a distinct experience from a conventional bathroom attached to a balcony room.

Two pools for different parts of the day

Diamond Cliff’s Ocean View Pool sits beside the all-day dining restaurant and looks across the bay. The Waterfall Pool takes another direction, set among gardens with cascading water, a slide, a splash zone and an adjacent shallow children’s pool. This is a more useful distinction than simply counting two pools. A family looking for water play and a couple wanting an outlook can have different reasons to choose where to spend an afternoon.

The official facilities also include a Kids House, fitness centre and tennis court, with fees applying to tennis. An unusual smaller feature is the fruit shop: the hotel publishes a once-per-stay benefit allowing guests to choose a kilogram of tropical fruit. It gives the resort a little character beyond its pool terraces. Exact benefits should still match the terms of the stay, rather than being treated as an unlimited daily provision.

Useful edges to the holiday

The Ocean View Lounge is designed for authorised early-arrival or late-departure guests and includes showers. That can make a difference when flight times leave a gap around the room reservation, without implying that early room access or a late checkout is guaranteed. The official fact sheet also lists a scheduled one-way shuttle to central Patong, with limited seats and advance booking. It is a connection to town, not an unrestricted return service.

Dining on site includes Japanese food at Kiko, Thai dishes at Thai Orchid and an international and Thai offering at Ocean View. Together with the pools, those options make spending a day at the resort plausible. Diamond Cliff suits travellers who value the elevated sea outlook and have a reason to use its facilities. Guests needing easy, level movement should give the precise room route as much weight as the attractive balcony photograph.
