Deevana Plaza Phuket Patong review: family bunks or a poolside balcony

A family room and a poolside room solve different needs here, with the pool and practical Patong location tying the stay together.

The address matters before the room choice

Deevana Plaza Phuket Patong is the Deevana property at 239/14 Raj-U-Thid 200 Pee Road. Its full name matters when comparing reviews: Deevana Patong Resort & Spa and Ramada by Wyndham Phuket Deevana are separate hotels. The Plaza combines a central Patong base with accommodation organized around different city, pool and family priorities, rather than offering one standard resort experience repeated across every room.

The hotel’s current website lists Superior City View, Deluxe Pool View and Premier Waterfront rooms at 35 square meters, with Family Rooms and Deluxe Suites at 44 square meters. That makes the category decision partly about arrangement and outlook. A larger Family Room does not automatically deliver the outdoor space of a smaller Premier category, and the word Waterfront needs to be read in the context of the hotel pool.

Bunk beds or a balcony beside the water

The official Family Room description is unusually specific. A king bed occupies the main sleeping area, with wooden bunk beds in an adjoining section for children. A dining table and a bathroom with separate shower stall and bathtub add practical uses to the extra space. The published occupancy is two adults and two children under twelve, so families with older children should check the appropriate arrangement directly.

There is an important compromise: this category has a city outlook and no balcony. For a family whose priority is giving children their own beds in one accommodation unit, that may be acceptable. Someone picturing an outdoor terrace for the adults after bedtime should compare a different category or discuss connecting rooms, rather than assume that every room photograph applies.

The Premier Waterfront page instead describes a private balcony with sunbeds and direct pool access. It also lists a daybed and a separate shower and bathtub. The distinction is therefore easy to understand in everyday terms: the Family Room concentrates on sleeping arrangements indoors, while Premier Waterfront makes the connection to the shared pool part of the room experience. It is not a private pool villa.

Pool time and meals have their own settings

The facilities page identifies a ground-floor swimming pool with a water slide, plus a children’s play area near the lobby and pool. A gym and Orientala Spa provide other ways to spend time at the hotel. Parents should note the wording for the children’s area: the hotel places responsibility with parents. The presence of play equipment does not make it a supervised childcare service.

For meals, Phuket Café serves the breakfast buffet on the lobby floor, while Terrace Bar & Bistro overlooks the pool for lunch, dinner and refreshments. In-room dining is also advertised. These separate settings make it possible to use the hotel for an easy breakfast or poolside meal and go elsewhere in Patong for the rest, depending on what the booked rate includes.

A family reviewing a June 2026 stay on Trip.com said the children enjoyed the slide and swimming pool, although breakfast felt less impressive than on a previous visit. Moneymclo’s July 2026 Deluxe Pool View account praised cleaning, air conditioning and reliable hot water, and found nearby shops and the night market convenient. The same guest wanted more Thai noodle choices at breakfast. Those details suggest a useful base with individual preferences shaping the dining verdict.

Comfort and condition draw different verdicts

Expedia’s dated guest accounts add balance. David, visiting in February 2026, praised the comfortable room, buffet and walk to the beach and nightlife. Ersan’s September 2026 report also found the hotel clean and staff friendly, but considered the rooms worn and outdated. Both observations can be relevant: satisfactory cleaning does not necessarily mean recently refreshed furnishings.

The Plaza is best assessed through the exact room being considered and the kind of holiday it supports. Families can weigh bunks against a balcony; couples can compare city views with pool access. Guests who want to walk into Patong should allow for the heat and their own pace rather than read central as effortless access to every attraction. The clearest strengths are the defined room choices, pool activities and nearby daily conveniences, with recent room-condition feedback worth discussing before booking.

A few useful answers

Is Premier Waterfront a beachfront room?

The official category describes access to the hotel’s shared pool, not a room directly on Patong Beach.

Does the Family Room have a balcony?

No. The official 44-square-meter Family Room has a city outlook, king bed and children’s bunk beds, without a balcony.

Is the children’s area supervised childcare?

The official facilities page places children under parental responsibility. Confirm any additional arrangements directly.
