The L Resort Krabi review: promenade convenience and pool-level rooms

A central Ao Nang position is the draw, but a garden-side bath, pool terrace and suite above the lift lead to different stays.

The promenade is part of the stay

The L Resort Krabi is on Ao Nang’s main promenade, with the beach in front and restaurants, bars and shops around it. Its two swimming pools give guests a reason to spend time inside the property as well. The main decision is how to use that central setting: pool access, a garden-side room or a larger suite each makes a different base.

The official website describes bright, modern rooms rather than a spread of traditional hillside bungalows. That suits the location’s emphasis on access to town. A July 2026 Family Suite guest, yannie lee on Trip.com, praised the clean room and proximity to Centre Point and the night market. It is a useful account of the neighborhood’s appeal for friends sharing accommodation, rather than evidence that this is a secluded resort.

The beach-front position also needs a little precision. Guest accounts describe the beach across the street, so photographs of the sea should not suggest a private strip of sand outside every room. The promenade places eating, shopping and beach time together, with the activity of central Ao Nang forming part of that convenience.

Two 40-square-meter rooms, two different uses

The official Premier Room page places this category at the back of the resort among gardens. It lists 40 square meters, a king bed and capacity for two adults. The distinguishing feature is a bathtub on the private balcony, along with a corner window and a separate minibar area. Its emphasis is outdoor bathing and a garden setting, rather than stepping directly into a swimming pool.

The Deluxe Pool Access category is also published at 40 square meters, but the terrace opens directly to the water. Floor-to-ceiling windows face the pool garden, and the description includes a poolside daybed. The same room area therefore buys a different relationship with the shared space. For someone who expects to swim repeatedly through the day, the terrace is more consequential than the area alone.

These are separate room categories, not interchangeable features of all accommodation. Premier does not mean pool access, and a pool-access terrace does not imply the outdoor balcony bathtub listed for Premier Rooms. The hotel also offers Family Suites, Premium Suites and a Two Bedroom L Suite, broadening the choice for guests who need a different arrangement from one king-bed room.

The lift and the room itself

Lavbelav, reviewing an August 2026 Premium Suite stay on Trip.com, enjoyed the large room, helpful staff and pool but noted that the elevator did not reach the level of the booked accommodation. That is a specific access detail with more practical value than simply saying a hotel has a lift. It should remain attached to that stay and category, since the account does not establish the route to every suite.

A September 2025 Deluxe King reviewer liked the service and two pools but reported air conditioning blowing toward the head and weak sound insulation between rooms. That earlier room experience does not establish a current fault throughout the hotel. It does show why convenience of location and comfort inside a particular room are separate judgments.

Two pools and an established restaurant

The official pool description includes two outdoor pools, a waterfall, Jacuzzi and a pool bar serving drinks and light snacks. This gives the resort a leisure component beyond a convenient bed on the promenade. Pool-access rooms bring that setting to the terrace, while other guests use it as a shared part of the property.

Wanna’s Place, the hotel restaurant, lists Thai and international food with Swiss dishes and steaks as specialties. The August 2026 Premium Suite guest preferred the menu food to a breakfast they considered only okay. That is a personal dining assessment, not a reason to promise or dismiss breakfast for everyone. The L’s strongest case remains its specific mix of central access, two pools and clearly differentiated room positions.

A few useful answers

Does a Premier Room have direct pool access?

The official Premier Room description places it at the back of the resort and lists a balcony bathtub. Direct access from a terrace is a feature of the separate Deluxe Pool Access category.
